MHSB Boosters

Booster Club

Each family participating in the band program is a part of the Booster Club and is required to volunteer in some area each semester.  Parents are expected to sign up for their Volunteer Position upon registration.  Registration is not considered complete unless the Volunteer Position is included.  Booster Club volunteer opportunities are organized by committee.  The Booster Club meets a minimum of twice a year.  The Booster Club Committees are:

•    Administration Committee: Provides an information center at Cornerstone and other Band events, assists the Director with administrative tasks, collects fundraiser, registration and tuition payments, handles registrations, etc.


•    Promotion & Communication Committee:  Promotes and advertises the band, handles printed materials (newsletters, event flyers, e-mails), manages the website (with oversight from the Board of Directors).


•    Set-Up Crew:  Concert and performance trip arrangements, set up and clean up, including transporting instruments to off site performances.

 

 •    Fundraising Committee:  Directs fundraising including selecting fund raisers, announcing these to the band and tracking and communicating fundraising status.  The Pancake Breakfast and the Concert Program Ads are a major fundraisers.

•    Special Events Committee:  Organizes special events including the Band Banquet, Cornerstone Appreciation Luncheon, Music Faire, band fellowship events, concert refreshments, etc.


•    Booster Club Executive Committee:  Made up of one member from each of the above committees, elected by the Committee.

Board supervised volunteer opportunities include:
•    Serve on the Board
•    Grant research and writing
•    Maintain the Family Fundraising Account Records
